Scholarship Information

Manistee Catholic Central Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the Doris and Ed Polcyn Graduate Scholarship for 2025.  Alumni of Manistee Catholic Central School who are enrolled in Graduate or Undergraduate College Programs at Accredited Institutions or enrolled in Accredited Trade Schools or Registered Apprenticeship Programs are eligible to apply. Several scholarships ranging from $1,000.00 to $5,000.00 will be awarded to qualified applicants nominated by the MCCS Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee with final approval of the MCCS Foundation Board.

Doris and Ed Polcyn’s Catholic Faith was central in their lives.  Doris served on the Pastoral Council of Divine Mercy Parish and was a past trustee on the Manistee Catholic Central Schools Foundation Board. Doris valued the importance of service by volunteering for civic, school and parish events.

Selection may include an interview in person, via phone or zoom.  Applicants must submit a Letter of Application and necessary attachments to the Manistee Catholic Central Schools Foundation Polcyn Graduate Scholarship and include the following:

Written Response

  • Statement of overall Education Goal or Career Path including present status

  • Describe personal motivation or influences affecting your decision in choosing this pathway

  • Describe how your faith influenced your career path choice

  • Describe the influence of your education at MCC in your career path decision

  • Full name [Current Name and Name listed on MCC Transcript]

  • Statement as to Adult Criminal Record of felonies. Response will not exclude applicants from consideration. [Yes or No]

Attachments

  • Proof of Enrollment [may be a letter of acceptance, copy of class schedule, school counselor or admissions officer letter]

  • Letter of Recommendation, excluding family members

  • Letter from a pastor affirming active Catholic or Christian Church membership

  • Statement or evidence of Church or Community Service
